I think that I am failing at being an accountability partner. I can never stop bad things from happening. Is that really my fault though? Maybe not, but I still should be keeping up right?
What kind of failure are you talking about - in yourself or in your partner? In character or actions? Or bad circumstances that happen outside of anyone's control.
Failure and bad times are a great time to rejoice in God's sovereignty. If He is in charge, we can trust that He can use the failures and bad things to help us grow closer to Him and give His LIFE to us. When else do we want it more than when we're in trouble? (I speak from experience!) "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those that love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Rom. 8:28
We can also rejoice in being humbled - it is so good for us to be reminded that we are nothing, that our very goodness is like filthy rags in His presence and that our only righteousness comes from Him.
Be Encouraged. :o)
I sure hope anonymous doesn't show up and respond to this!! Wheww!
